Pastor James P. Durant
Over twenty-four years ago I had a talk with the Lord. He told me that He’d sent signs and messengers to let me know He had a job for me to do. Not understanding nor accepting, I began to speak to Him, but with stipulations, to accept His request. As time passed, He was faithful to answer my questions, and I began to trust Him more and I answered unto Him.
From the beginning of time, God knew that I’d work for Him. For the last twenty-three years my daily mission has been to do God’s Kingdom work. He’s given me the fortitude to come before His people to enrich and encourage, to help in times of weakness and to offer hope when one loses the way. I’m yet amazed by the gifts He’s bestowed upon me, and marvel at every blessing through the healing ministry and prayer life that surrounds me. I remain humbly appreciative of His great works in and on my life, and in the lives of those I love and lead. Each day I accept this great level of servant’s responsibility as a child of the Most High God, husband, father, preacher, pastor, teacher, prayer warrior, leader and friend for all to know the Great God that I serve and love. So, God uses an imperfect man to show the power of His love, and grace; and for that, I am eternally grateful.
As I continue on this journey with the Lord, I’m grateful for those that He’s sent to travel along with me: my rib, the protector of my heart for 24+ years, Letitia Y. Harrison-Durant; our loving children, Minister Lakeisha Durant Tapper (Elio), Ryan Durant (Arissa) and three adorable grandchildren, Naomi Joy Tapper, Josiah Parker Tapper, and Roland Durant.
With such blessings, I will continue to walk the path that He’s prepared for me, as I continue to live out my life’s motto: “After you’ve done all you can do, pray for strength to do some more.” As He works in my life, so will I remain faithful to work in the Kingdom to help foster the plan to Envision, Evangelize, Equip and Disciple the people of God as I work to Seek the Lost At All Costs.
